Victoria Beckham has spoken about prioritizing her family amid ongoing tensions with her son Brooklyn Beckham, emphasizing that she and her husband, David Beckham “always put [their] children first.”
During an appearance on the Today show, Victoria addressed what she described as a “challenging” year, though she did not directly mention Brooklyn by name.
“We always put our children first. We love our children so much and we’ve always really focused on protecting our children,” she said.
Victoria, who shares Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper with David, reiterated her focus on family, adding, “We love our children so much, and we’ve always really focused on protecting our children.”
She also spoke about the support system around her during difficult moments. “Myself and David, we’re so close,” she said. “We’re very close to my parents and David’s parents. We support each other through everything that we do.”
Reflecting on her relationship with David, she added, “[David and I] really have grown together, we support each other. We’ve both got big dreams. We’re both very, very ambitious and support each other. I want him to be the best version of himself and that’s what he wants for me.”
The interview marked her first television appearance since Brooklyn publicly criticized his family earlier this year.
In a separate interview with The Wall Street Journal, Victoria also addressed the situation, saying, “I think that we’ve always – we love our children so much. We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.”
She continued, “We’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it.”
Reports indicate that Brooklyn began distancing himself from the Beckham family after marrying Nicola Peltz in 2022. The situation reportedly escalated in 2025, with claims that he had cut off contact and requested communication through legal representatives.
In January, Brooklyn shared a statement on social media saying he does “not want to reconcile” with his family, amid ongoing speculation about tensions related to his marriage.
Despite public gestures from other family members, including birthday tributes shared online, the situation appears unresolved.
Victoria’s latest comments highlight her continued focus on family unity, even as the reported rift remains a topic of public attention.
