Topher Grace has joined Cristin Milioti in Buddy, an independent horror-thriller directed by Casper Kelly. Kelly is known for creating Adult Swim shows like Your Pretty Face Is Going to Hell and the viral horror-comedy Too Many Cooks. He also co-wrote the script with Jamie King, who previously worked on the Disney+ family film World’s Best. Filming is currently happening in Ohio.
The plot is still a secret, but the project is being described as a “new experience in horror.”
J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules are producing the movie through their company, BoulderLight Pictures. It’s been a busy year for them, with Companion, Friendship, and the upcoming horror movie Weapons already on their schedule.

Tyler Davidson and Drew Sykes are also producing, representing Low Spark Films, a production company based in Cleveland, Ohio. Low Spark has previously worked on projects like Emily the Criminal and Take Shelter. They are also co-financing the film.

Tracy Rosenblum, BoulderLight’s vice president of development and production, is serving as executive producer. The film is being made in collaboration with Sipur Studios (known for Bad Boy) and Substance. Distribution rights for the film are being jointly handled by Range Select and UTA.
Although Topher Grace became widely known for his lovable lead role in the classic sitcom That ’70s Show, he has since focused on taking roles that break away from that image.
So far this year, Grace appeared in The Waterfront, a Netflix crime drama by Kevin Williamson, where he played a fun yet dangerous drug dealer. He also starred in the Lionsgate action-thriller Flight Risk, portraying a fugitive informant being hunted by a deranged character played by Mark Wahlberg.
In 2023, he was featured in A24’s psychological horror film Heretic, which received critical acclaim and awards attention. Up next, he will appear alongside Glen Powell and Margaret Qualley in the A24 thriller Huntington.
Grace is represented by CAA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Hirsch Wallerstein.
