Taylor Frankie Paul is facing fresh domestic violence allegations from her ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen, marking the third police investigation involving the former couple.
According to reports, the most recent case stems from an alleged 2024 incident. Authorities in West Jordan, Utah are currently reviewing multiple videos tied to the situation, though specific details about the alleged altercation have not yet been made public.
Ongoing Legal History Between the Pair
This is not the first time the two have been under investigation. Their initial domestic violence case dates back to 2023 and was documented on the Hulu reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Recently resurfaced footage reportedly shows Paul throwing metal barstools at Mortensen while a child was nearby. Following that incident, Paul pleaded guilty to aggravated assault and remains on probation until August.
The fallout from that case has already had professional consequences. The release of the footage prompted Disney to delay the premiere of “The Bachelorette” Season 22, which stars Paul and has already been filmed.
Conflicting Claims and Second Investigation
A second investigation, handled by authorities in Draper City, Utah, involves allegations made by both Paul and Mortensen against each other. The situation has contributed to ongoing scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
Production on Season 5 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives has also been paused as a result of the legal developments, which intensified following the video leak and renewed controversy.
Statement From Paul’s Team
In response to the latest developments, a spokesperson for Paul emphasized her focus on safety and her side of the story:
“Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security,” the statement reads.
“After years of silently suffering extensive mental and physical abuse as well as threats of retaliation, Taylor is finally gaining the strength to face her accuser and taking steps to ensure that she and her children are protected from any further harm.”
The statement continued:
“There are too many women who are suffering in silence as they survive aggressive, jealous ex-partners who refuse to let them move on with their lives. Taylor has remained silent out of fear of further abuse, retaliation, and public shaming. She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”
