Miriam Margolyes has confirmed she turned down an offer to appear in the current series of Celebrity Traitors.
Speaking at the Cheltenham Literature Festival while promoting her new book, the 84-year-old actress said she has never watched the show and had no interest in taking part.

When asked if she would ever join the BBC One reality series, she replied, “Well, I can tell you the answer to that. No.”
Because I was offered this job. No. Just recently and I can’t think of anything I’d rather less do. No, I’m not into that. I’ve never watched it; I don’t intend to watch it. There is some jolly good people doing it. And if they want to do it for money, well, that’s fair enough, but you won’t get me on it.

The spin-off currently features Alan Carr, Jonathan Ross, Charlotte Church and Celia Imrie competing for a charity prize fund. Contestants must identify the traitors among them while completing missions to raise money.
BBC One has confirmed the 70-minute finale will air on November 6 at 9 p.m. on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Viewers will find out whether this season’s traitors, Jonathan Ross, Cat Burns, and Alan Carr can escape detection and secure the prize for their chosen charities.
The premiere episode has already surpassed 11.7 million viewers, setting a new record for The Traitors UK.
