Paige DeSorbo was forced to abruptly leave the Love Island USA villa after falling seriously ill just hours after arriving on set.
The Summer House star had only landed on location less than 24 hours before filming began. Despite being prepped for the long shoot complete with water breaks, ice packs, and access to shade DeSorbo became unwell during the intense heat and eventually passed out.
It’s a long filming day, and we started pretty early. And mind you, I had just landed – not even a full 24 hours that I am there. I’m not even acclimated. But I’m fine, I’m not gonna say that. I’m not gonna be a diva.
Speaking on her Giggly Squad podcast, DeSorbo recalled the moment things began to spiral:

Trying to push through, the TV personality explained she didn’t want to create trouble for the production team.
Like, I’m doing a job. The sun starts beating down on me pretty aggressively. I have a high pain tolerance, so if I’m uncomfortable, I’m really waiting for the last second to tell you, because I don’t want to be a problem. I don’t want to be bothersome.
Despite trying to stay composed, the heat eventually got the better of her. Although she was wearing a full suede skirt and making use of cooling methods, the conditions proved overwhelming.
I’m like an hour and a half into filming and I’m like, ‘You know what? Real quick, I’m feeling a little bit queasy. Let me take a moment to myself.’ I throw up.
In the podcast, DeSorbo detailed how she began to feel lightheaded:
I’m not feeling totally normal, but again, I’m not stopping the show that has so graciously asked me to come on. I literally sat down and passed out. I don’t think I can keep going, and if I do, I really think I will pass out.
she said.
Her unexpected disappearance from the episode left many viewers confused. Social media was quickly abuzz with speculation.
One fan wrote: “Weird, they flew Paige out to host a challenge and she didn’t finish it? Did she overheat in her suede? #LoveIslandUSA.”
Another questioned: “Why did Paige DeSorbo just randomly disappear during the episode of Love Island last night?”
While DeSorbo’s condition raised concerns, she has since reassured fans through her podcast that she’s recovering. Her brief stint on the show may have ended early, but it certainly left viewers talking.
