Kourtney Kardashian sparked tension with sister Kim Kardashian over Kim’s pursuit of a law career, delivering a pointed remark that referenced their late father, Robert Kardashian Sr.
In the Nov. 27 episode of The Kardashians, Kim recalled a moment while studying when her computer crashed and unexpectedly displayed a photo of their father alongside a clock reading “2:13.” Curious, she searched its meaning.
“I looked up the angel number 213 and it says, ‘The angel is guiding you towards your goal and encouraging you in your abilities,'” Kim said, explaining that she shared the moment in the family group chat.
However, Kourtney’s response was blunt.
“‘I think it’s dad probably saying you shouldn’t do the bar [exam],'” Kim read from the message. “‘You’ve got enough on your plate. You’ve got four kids.'”
Kim was furious, responding in a confessional:
“Kourtney, listen to me: I’m a workaholic. I want to learn, and I’d rather be in f–king law school than sitting at home all day.”
“It’s my passion. I’d die for it. What language do I need to speak to get you to understand that I f–king live, breathe for f–king law school. I love it.”
This is not the first time Kourtney has raised concerns. On the Nov. 20 episode, after Kim disclosed learning she had a brain aneurysm and was advised to avoid stress, Kourtney questioned the timing of her legal ambitions.
“I’m not shaming or judging,” Kourtney said about Kim’s busy schedule raising North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm, “but isn’t there a time to do it later once your kids are more grown and they don’t need you as much?”
Kim pushed back, saying the timing empowers her children:
“I love that my kids see me go to school. When I drop them off at school, they see me go to school. I enjoy that.”
New episodes of The Kardashians stream Thursdays on Hulu.
