Tensions flared on ITV’s Celebrity Big Brother as JoJo Siwa was forced to shut down Chris Hughes after he referred to her as his “girlfriend” in a light-hearted moment that quickly turned awkward.
During Wednesday night’s episode, Big Brother allowed Chris Hughes, Trisha Goddard, and Danny Beard to cash in their treats earned earlier in the competition. For Hughes, that meant choosing one fellow housemate to share a Chinese takeaway with, after selecting 11 dishes.

Hughes said
I kinda wanna have it with Jack though, cause it might be his last night.
But he quickly hesitated

After a brief nudge from Big Brother, Hughes ultimately chose Jack P. Shepherd, citing concern over his stress levels following a nomination for eviction.
Mr. Platt. He (Big Brother) said name one person you want to share your Chinese with. I went with my head and not my heart, and you look stressed. I got 11 dishes, it could be your last night.
Emerging from the diary room, Hughes explained his reasoning to Shepherd:
That is a proper good feast! Just two lads having a proper good feast.
Later, in a conversation in the kitchen, Hughes tried to brush off the moment:
Siwa then entered the room, and Shepherd didn’t waste time throwing Hughes under the bus for not choosing his “house bestie” for the meal.
Hughes appeared flustered as he tried to explain, reportedly referring to Siwa as his “girlfriend” during the exchange. The pop star quickly corrected him, making it clear there were no romantic undertones to their friendship.
The pair’s dynamic has been closely watched by both housemates and viewers, with some fans speculating on the closeness of their relationship. Siwa, who is openly gay and in a committed relationship, has previously made it clear that the bond is purely platonic.
