Henry Cavill got hurt during pre-production while training for Amazon MGM Studios’ United Artists Highlander movie. Because of this, filming on the Chad Stahelski–directed reboot of the cult franchise will be pushed back until early next year.
The original 1986 Highlander starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery and showed the climax of an ancient fight between immortal warriors, told through both past and present-day stories. The film became very popular during the 1980s home video boom, leading to several sequels, a hit TV series, and a loyal fan following.

It was directed by Russell Mulcahy and produced by Peter S. Davis and William N. Panzer.
Cavill is represented by WME, and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern. He also has several films in post-production, including Rawson Marshall Thurber’s Voltron, Guy Ritchie’s In the Grey, and Netflix’s Enola Holmes 3.
Last year, Cavill appeared in three movies: Disney/Marvel Studios’ Deadpool and Wolverine, Lionsgate’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, and Apple Original Films’ Argylle.
