Final Destination 7 is now officially being made after Final Destination Bloodlines became the most successful movie in the series, and New Line may have chosen its director.
Deadline says the studio is close to a deal with Belgian filmmaker Michiel Blanchart to direct.
Blanchart is a rising director known for this year’s fast-paced thriller Night Call, his first feature film (our review), and the popular horror short “You’re Dead Helene.” He is also turning that short into a full movie with producer Sam Raimi.

Final Destination Bloodlines’ co-writer, Lori Evans Taylor, will write the script for Final Destination 7.
Bloodlines was the sixth movie in the long-running series, and the first one in fourteen years. Each movie is about “Death” going after young friends who escape a big deadly accident. The Final Destination series was created by Jeffrey Reddick, and the first movie showed “Death” on screen back in 2000, 25 years ago.

The sixth film’s huge box office success made Final Destination New Line’s third biggest horror series, only behind The Conjuring Universe and the It movies, so it makes sense that this new sequel is moving forward quickly.
