Filming for the fourth series has started just weeks after season 3 wrapped. Both seasons were approved at the same time, bringing the story to a close.
The fourth and final season of Apple TV+’s dystopian drama Silo begins shooting today (4 August) at a studio in the UK.
From the beginning, the creators intended to divide the full story into four parts. This thoughtful planning made the production process clear and well-organized.

Silo is adapted from Hugh Howey’s bestselling trilogy Wool, Shift, and Dust. It tells the story of the last 10,000 people on Earth, living in a huge underground silo to stay safe from the toxic and deadly world above. No one knows when or why the silo was built, and anyone who searches for the truth faces deadly consequences.
Rebecca Ferguson stars in the show and is also one of the executive producers, along with Graham Yost, Michael Dinner, Nina Jack, Joanna Thapa, Morten Tyldum, Hugh Howey, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon, and AMC Studios.
Graham Yost is the showrunner and executive producer who adapted the original books for Apple TV+. The show is made by Apple Studios. Production is taking place at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire. Earlier seasons also used OMA One Film Studios and OMA X Film Studios.
It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons.
When the third and fourth series were jointly greenlit, Yost said
