The popular Amazon Prime series Fallout climbed back up the streaming charts after the season 2 premiere date and trailer were revealed. TV shows based on video games have become more common in recent years, especially with hits like Fallout and The Last of Us, which aired first and released its second season in 2025.
Fallout season 2 will start on Prime Video on December 17, with new episodes coming out every week until the finale on February 4, 2026. This is a big change from season 1, which was released all at once with all eight episodes on the same day.
Season 1 had a big-name cast, including Ella Purnell, Walton Goggins, Aaron Moten, Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias and Xelia Mendes-Jones. Produced by Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan, Fallout season 1 got amazing reviews, earning a 93 percent Rotten Tomatoes score, making it one of the most successful streaming game adaptations.
After the season 2 premiere date was announced, Fallout season 1 returned to the streaming charts in a big way. Excitement for the new season has fans watching the show again, putting it in the Top 10 on the Prime Video chart.

In the United States, it is currently ranked No. 10 as of August 27. Before this, the Amazon series was not in the Top 10 at all. In other countries, the show ranked even higher, reaching No. 5 in the Czech Republic. Fans in Belgium, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland are also rewatching Fallout, with the show making the Top 10 in all these countries on August 27.
Fallout’s average ranking right now is 8.3 on the Prime Video chart. It is no surprise that the game-based series is rising again on the streaming charts. Fallout got very positive reviews from critics and had 65 million viewers when it was first released on Prime Video. It was also nominated for many awards and won an Emmy for Outstanding Music Supervision.
There was never any doubt that Fallout would return for season 2. Amazon believes in the series so much that it has already been renewed for season 3. Fallout returning to the Top 10 proves that fans are still very interested, even though season 1 came out over a year ago. There are still four months left before season 2 begins, so the excitement is just starting. If the current streaming success is any sign, the next season might be even more popular than season 1.
While fans will have to wait to see if the quality stays the same, they can be sure there will be no surprise cancellation. The producers and writers will be able to finish the story they planned, which should help make Fallout even more successful.
Fallout season 2 starts on Prime Video on December 17.
