Noel Clarke, best known for his roles in Doctor Who and Kidulthood, has reportedly been arrested at his home in Kensington, London.
According to The Sun and The Guardian, Metropolitan Police officers carried out the arrest on Thursday and raided Clarke’s property, seizing laptops and documents. The Sun published images of officers removing items from the residence. Neither outlet cited the reason for the arrest.
The Metropolitan Police and Clarke have been approached for comment.
The development comes after Clarke recently lost his libel case against The Guardian, which in 2021 published allegations of sexual misconduct made by more than 20 women. Clarke has consistently denied the claims. Following the defeat, he was ordered to pay at least £3 million ($4 million) in legal costs to the newspaper’s publisher.
Clarke, 49, has not taken on substantial work since the allegations emerged. He previously played Mickey Smith in Doctor Who, and his last major UK television appearance was in ITV’s 2021 drama Viewpoint.
In addition to acting, Clarke created the cult hit Kidulthood and has appeared in projects including Star Trek Into Darkness and Bulletproof.
