During the July 6 episode, viewers saw Ortega leave the villa, leaving her partner Nic emotional and “lost.” Her exit came in the wake of intense online criticism over a resurfaced Instagram Story, in which she allegedly used a racial slur while describing the effects of Botox on her facial expression.
In their statement, Ortega’s parents described the past week as “one of the most painful” of their lives. They acknowledged the anger surrounding the post but condemned the threats and level of hate directed at their daughter and her supporters. “No one deserves that kind of hate, no matter what mistake they’ve made,” the statement read.
They further clarified that Ortega has not yet seen the backlash herself and has not publicly responded, but they expressed confidence that she would address the matter “with honesty, growth, and grace” when she returns.
The family asked fans and viewers to show understanding and allow Ortega the space to take responsibility on her own terms.
Meanwhile, producers reiterated that Ortega’s exit was for “personal reasons.” As reactions continued to surge across social media, Ortega’s parents concluded their statement by thanking those who had shown support during this challenging period.
