Support has poured in for Big Brother UK contestant Feyisola, who candidly discussed her experience with alopecia, describing it as a “massive insecurity.”
The ITV2 reality show has returned with fresh twists and dramatic turns, featuring two early eliminations, Emily and Gani, and even its first rule breach. Amid the mounting tension in the house, viewers have been touched by Feyisola’s openness about her personal health journey.

During a heartfelt conversation with fellow housemate Teja on October 5, Feyisola revealed how her alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss, sometimes in patches or entirely, has affected her confidence and sense of identity.
My alopecia started to get bad when I was in my 20s. I never would have the confidence to… I shaved my hair off in Covid years, so 2020, I shaved my hair off. I never once left the house like that, ever. So if I look back at her and to be like I only have my head out now, I couldn’t even recognise. Like she’ll be like no. I never had my head out, I never, I wore wigs. I did this, I did that.
Feyisola added, “And I’m not ashamed of it,” to which Teja replied, “You didn’t have the confidence.”
She went on to describe the emotional impact of losing her hair, saying it had been a “massive insecurity.” Teja empathised, remarking, “But the thing is, for women, especially black women, your hair is, it’s massive, it’s everything.”
Feyisola continued:
So going bald, I was like ‘Oh, have I lost my identity?’ You question a lot of things, and I really questioned my identity, like big time.
