Amy Schumer has ignited intense speculation about a possible split from husband Chris Fischer after posting a new set of slimmed-down Instagram photos without her wedding ring.
Over the weekend, the 44-year-old comedian shared several images posing on a staircase in a butter-yellow minidress with black slingback heels, proudly showing off her recent weight-loss progress. However, fans quickly noticed a key detail: her wedding ring was missing, sparking widespread discussion online.
“Trying to go to the party but someone won’t go to bed,” Schumer captioned the photos, which also featured her and Fischer’s 6-year-old son, Gene, in the background. Her representatives have not yet commented on the speculation.
The ring-free appearance comes shortly after Schumer deleted all of her pre-weight-loss Instagram posts, later telling followers she “deleted [her] old pics for no reason!” She then uploaded another carousel of modeling shots—again without the ring.
“Your Instagram is not your identity it’s a curation of what you want the world to see and I feel great strong and beautiful and it’s been fun sharing that,” she later explained.
However, a report from the Daily Mail suggested deeper issues behind the public cleanup.
“Amy is 100% getting divorced. She got skinny. She is over it,” a source told the outlet, alleging that Schumer “deleted Chris from Instagram, then deleted everything else. She’s going to file soon, but it’s over. Done.”
The outlet also claimed Fischer is “mostly out of the house at this point” and that the couple has listed two homes in Brooklyn and New Orleans. Another insider added that the actress “has not taken him on a red carpet for months.”
“When a woman loses weight, her personality changes,” the second source said. “Amy has changed since losing weight; she is much lighter in her spirit, more easygoing. I think she wants more out of life.”
A subsequent report from People painted a more hopeful picture, with a source stating that despite challenges, “they are privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have” and “both are committed to the relationship.”
Another source also claimed that Fischer’s autism “has also become a minor issue for their relationship.”
Schumer and Fischer were married in February 2018, and share one son.
