Reacher Season 4 is still being filmed, but lead star Alan Ritchson has already given the best hint about what fans can expect.
In a new interview with Men’s Journal to promote his Dr. Squatch ad, “Manlandia,” the actor also talked about his hit Prime Video action series. The show will return with the much-awaited Season 4, which Ritchson is filming now. When speaking about the new season, the lead star teased that Reacher Season 4 is “the best season we’ve had yet,” and promised it will be full of action.
Backing up his recent comments about Season 4 having “the best fight ever,” the actor explained how fight-heavy the next chapter is.
Usually, by the end of the day, it’s a sweet mixture of both fake and real blood. I don’t think I have any real blood today, which is rare.
he said
Season 4 will adapt Lee Child’s 2009 novel Gone Tomorrow, which follows a mystery in New York City.
It’s a gauntlet. I mean, it’s just a labyrinth of fights. We shot 11 fights in the first four weeks, and we’ve never shot anything close to that pace. Everywhere Reacher turns, he’s got another group on his heels. It’s fun, wild, and nonstop, and we haven’t done anything like it yet.
The lead star teased, and then Ritchson added
The actor said he’s a big fan of the books, but also noted how each season has gotten better since it started in 2022.
If you follow the other seasons, you know that they’ve gotten progressively better, more interesting. Season 3, I think, was especially well received. I thoroughly enjoyed the way we put that together, and the mystery and the reveals. It was true to Reacher, and it was him at his best so far. So, with that in mind, I say this with confidence: We’re somehow upping the stakes quite a bit. This is going to be the best season we’ve had yet. And definitely the bloodiest.
As for Season 4, Ritchson continued
While Reacher remains a top priority, with Season 4 still filming, Ritchson has secured his status as an action star with his latest film during festival season. Motor City just premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, with another screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The almost silent action thriller received strong early reviews, with Motor City holding a 79% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The actor is also set to lead another action film for Amazon MGM Studios, an untitled biopic about decorated Navy SEAL Mike Thornton. The film will have Sylvester Stallone as a producer and Patrick Hughes as director.
The project is his second time working with Hughes after the upcoming War Machine. While the Navy SEAL biopic has not started filming yet, Ritchson has more projects coming out, including the Christmas action movie The Man with the Bag, Playdate, and Runner, which he stars in with Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kevin James, and Owen Wilson, respectively. He is also working on bringing back his cult comedy series Blue Mountain State for Prime Video, along with many other projects still in early stages.
Reacher is streaming on Prime Video. Season 4 does not have a release date yet.
