With Reacher Season 3 wrapping up on Prime Video, speculation is already building about which Lee Child novel will inspire the next chapter. While an official decision has yet to be announced, series star Alan Ritchson and co-star Maria Sten have their own ideas about which books they’d love to see adapted for Season 4.
In a recent interview with Men’s Journal, Sten, who plays fan-favorite Frances Neagley and is currently filming her own Reacher spinoff, expressed her hope for Without Fail to make it to the screen—even though she’s not holding her breath.
I would really love Neagley to pop back on Reacher to do that one.
Sten shared.
The sixth novel in Child’s bestselling series, Without Fail, places Neagley at the center of the action as she and Reacher team up to stop an assassination attempt on the Vice President. Given her character’s prominent role in the story, it’s no surprise Sten is eager for it to be adapted.
Meanwhile, Ritchson has his sights set on Die Trying, the second book in the series, which throws Reacher into a high-stakes kidnapping plot.
I would love to see that happen. And so far, there’s been a lot of discussion about whether or not we should or should not. I guess we’ll see what the future holds. I’ll find a way.
Ritchson teased.
What’s Next for Reacher?
So far, Reacher has faithfully followed Child’s books, with Season 1 adapting Killing Floor, Season 2 bringing Bad Luck and Trouble, which first introduced Neagley to life, and Season 3 delivering an action-packed take on Persuader. With Season 4 officially confirmed, fans are eager to know which of the remaining 29 novels will make the cut.
Notably, Never Go Back and One Shot, which were previously adapted into Tom Cruise’s Jack Reacher films, haven’t been ruled out for future seasons. Child himself has indicated that while he’s open to revisiting them, they’re not a priority just yet.
In my mind, they’re not done now. I would revisit them absolutely, but I think not as a matter of urgency. Let’s do something that hasn’t been done in any medium yet. But yeah, I would certainly do the ones that were features, but they’re on the back burner, rather than the next one.
Child said.
With Reacher’s massive popularity and a vast library of books to choose from, the possibilities for Season 4 remain wide open. Whether Without Fail, Die Trying, or another thrilling novel gets the green light, one thing is certain Reacher’s next mission is bound to be just as action-packed as ever.
