Adam Scott is happy that his kids are finally watching one of his shows.
The 52-year-old dad of two shares his 18-year-old son Graham and 16-year-old daughter Frankie with his wife, Naomi Scott.
At the Emmy Awards 2025 on Sunday, Sept. 14, he said his kids never watched his hit series Parks and Recreation. But now, Frankie and Graham are watching Severance.
Finally I’m getting them to watch something I’m in. They actually watch it, and they actually enjoy it, They’ve never seen Parks and Rec or Party Down or anything else. So it’s just great that I can… I can’t count them as fans, but I can at least count them as viewers.
Scott told E! News’ Zuri Hall on the red carpet outside the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. He added
When Hall asked what it would take for his kids to watch Parks and Recreation, which ran from 2009 to 2015 and starred Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza and Nick Offerman, Scott replied.
That’s the thing. I’m like, ‘I swear you’ll like [it].’ They’ve seen The Office and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. They love all those shows, they just haven’t watched my show because I’m in it,” admitting his kids “keep [him] humble.
Scott also said his kids aren’t the only ones who ask for Severance spoilers. He explained that “everybody,” including famous friends, wants hints about what’s coming.
They actually don’t want to know. I think the fun is in not knowing. So I just… For the betterment of themselves, I don’t tell them anything.

Scott plays Mark Scout in the Apple TV+ series and is nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He’s up against Sterling K. Brown (Paradise), Gary Oldman (Slow Horses), Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us), and Noah Wyle (The Pitt). Severance leads this year’s nominations with 27.

The show is also up for Outstanding Drama Series, and Scott’s costar Britt Lower is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.
Zach Cherry, Tramell Tillman and John Turturro are all nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, and Patricia Arquette is competing for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
Ben Stiller also earned a nomination for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series for the episode “Cold Harbor.”
I think when we make the show, we’re just in it and trying to make the best show we can. It’s a really tough show to make, but that’s why we like it. So we’re not really thinking about [if it will be a hit]. When we make it, we have no idea if people will like it or if it will work. We’re just trying to do the best we can. So the fact that all of this happens, and people watch it and enjoy it, it’s just incredible. It’s just like icing on the cake.
Talking about all the nominations, Scott said, and then
